OUR FARM
Regenerative and holistic farming practices
A MENORCAN PARADISE
Located in Menorca, we are a family-owned farm, a unique paradise where all the magical elements of the island come together in over 25 breathtaking hectares of stunning Mediterranean countryside.
We’re committed to regenerative agriculture and holistic farming practices that reverse the negative effects of farming by helping to rebuild the soil and restore biodiversity.
WHAT WE GROW
Our farm is replete with medicinal herbs including Lemon Balm, Menorcan Chamomile, Calendula, Fennel, Peppermint, Rosemary, Lavender, Everlasting flowers… During the season, we grow vegetables and fruit of high quality, such as zucchinis, tomatoes, aubergines and melons in our organic garden.
RAISING LIVESTOCK
Organic farmers know that healthy soil means healthy plants. Ours cows, pigs, sheep, horses and chickens all contribute to aerating the soil, creating compost, improving soil organic matter, and enriching biodiversity.
BEEKEEPING
Honey bees are clearly vital parts of our ecosystem, acting as highly efficient pollinators for our fruit trees and forests.
Our raw honey is produced using sustainable, natural and regenerative beekeeping practices.
EGGS
Our chickens are all organically fed and free-range grazers that are humanely raised. We don’t raise them for their meat and all birds live their natural life cycle here.
OLIVE AND ALMOND TREES
Our olive and almonds trees are grown in Keyline Design, which is a land management practice that uses the natural patterns of the land to slow, spread, and sink rainwater. Doing so allows rainfall to spread more evenly throughout the property, resulting in less runoff, more drought tolerance, and improved soil fertility.
THE STUD FARM
At Son Aparets we are all horse lovers and out of this passion both for horses and for the island traditions, we began to breed beautiful Menorquín horses.
The Menorquín was officially recognised as an indigenous breed in 1989, and is listed in the Catálogo Oficial de Razas de Ganado de España in the group of autochthonous breeds in danger of extinction.
In 2021, our beautiful filly Miel won Champion of the first section of fillies and best breeding.
